elja® Contrast Turtle Zebora
Contrast weight animal. A heavy , quartz-sand-filled stuffed animal to promote depth perception and concentration . Place it on the ground, grasp it, knead it, feel it, pull it, push it, and cuddle it.
What's special about contrast weight animals is their "clear" design . We developed this special product especially for people with special visual perception and those with autism who seek contrasts and clear lines because they provide them with calm, support, and structure. It's also for those who find color overwhelming and therefore prefer black and white . Or, simply because they like it .
Please note regarding striped shells: For people with hypersensitive balance and/or visual perception, the stripes can also overwhelm them. They can then make them dizzy, for example, or they may refuse to look at them. While this overstimulation can be counteracted by offering additional weight/depth perception, this should only be used as a conscious stimulus in therapy. For educational or family use, it is recommended to choose a different contrasting weight animal (e.g., the contrasting snail Quendolin or the tortoise Cora) or a tortoise without strong contrasts.
The weight animal helps you...
- to concentrate
- to relax
- to promote depth perception
- to calm down
- You can better engage with the outside world . The weight of the animal allows you to become more aware of yourself, which promotes external perception.
- to feel your body's boundaries . Being aware of yourself in space is an important basis for feeling comfortable .
- to sleep better
- to positively support child development
- to feel and experience
The turtle is ideal for placing on your lap, for example, while reading or doing homework. It's also relaxing to have the turtle on your lap/back/stomach/chest while sitting on the couch. The body senses the weight and thus knows where it begins and ends. This promotes body-spatial awareness. You feel yourself and can thus concentrate on other things.
The sewn-on shell is a pocket with two openings . Hands can touch and relax in it. It's wonderful to knead the sand inside the turtle's body. Not only does kneading the sand reduce stress levels, but it also increases pressure on the muscles and promotes depth perception even more intensely.
You can also put a little something in the bag - for example a few small balls - this is exciting and encourages the fingers to explore.
The weighted animals are all lovingly hand-sewn in Lower Austria, each bears a name and comes to your home with your personal message of power. They are your companions in kindergarten, at school, in therapy and at home.By purchasing a weighted animal you support the elja ® Special Needs Pot.
