Cleaning & Care:

 

elja® weight animals can be cleaned and cared for in 3 ways:

 

• Wipe with a damp cloth - for superficial soiling

• Hand wash in warm water or under running water - with or without detergent, as desired.

• Place in the freezer for 1-2 days

 

Laundry details:

After washing thoroughly, drain the weighted animal upside down, then place it on a well-absorbent towel (in the shower, bathtub, or outside) for a few hours to allow the water to drain from the sand. Only then should you place the weighted animal on a clothes rack to allow sufficient air circulation. Shake and turn it frequently to ensure the quartz sand can dry thoroughly.

Drying takes 1-3 days depending on the size of the animal and the ambient temperature.

The wet sand smell disappears after complete drying.

 

elja® Washing-GAME suggestion:

In the summer, the weighted animal bath can also be done with children in a water tub in the garden. This way, not only does the animal get washed, but the children also have a variety of sensory experiences (water, cold-warm, kneading-deep pressure, etc.), and it's fun.

Whether at home or in kindergarten, it is a wonderful "meaningful" summer game.

 

For your information: If the weight animal is in the water for a very long time and is kneaded a lot, brownish sediments of the sand may dissolve and color the water.

Weighted animals are not heat pads and therefore not suitable for microwave or oven use.
